What your friends see

The link you send opens a page on the web. Your friend doesn’t need the app or an account — they tap and it’s there.

That page is what makes a split work, so it helps to know what they’re looking at.

  1. Who are you? — they pick their name from the list.
  2. If the split lets everyone choose, they pick the items they had.
  3. You owe — the final figure, with the breakdown underneath: their items, and their share of tax and service.
  4. How to pay you — cash, or a transfer with your address and a copy button.
  5. Confirm payment — they tap it once they’ve sent the money, and it shows on your side as “says they paid”.

There’s also a section showing the whole group and who has paid, so everyone sees where they stand.

With “let them choose”, someone opening the link late may find every item taken. The page says so and shows who took what.

Once it’s closed, anyone opening the link sees that it’s finalised and is told to talk to you if something looks wrong.

  • Send the link to the group chat rather than to each person.
  • Type names clearly — your friend has to recognise themselves in the list.

My friend says the link doesn’t work — the split was closed or deleted.

Someone picked the wrong name — open the split and correct it from your side, or make a new one.
