Automatic tracking on Android
Limited on the free planThis page is for Android. On iPhone, see Automatic tracking on iPhone.
On Android the app can read your bank’s messages itself, with nothing to set up outside it. Turn it on once and you’re done.
Turning it on
Section titled “Turning it on”- Open Settings and turn on SMS Auto-Capture.
- Android asks for permission to read your messages. Allow it.
- That’s it. Every bank message from now on records itself.
Home also shows a reminder if the permission isn’t granted.
The daily cap
Section titled “The daily cap”The free plan caps how many new transactions you get a day. Messages that arrive past the cap are kept as they are, and the moment you subscribe they’re all recorded at once, without you doing anything.
- Leave the permission on. If you turn it off, messages that arrive meanwhile don’t come back on their own — you’d need Syncing your old messages.
- If your phone is aggressive about closing background apps, exclude MoneyLoop from battery saving.
Common problems
Section titled “Common problems”It’s on but nothing is recorded — check the SMS permission in Android’s own settings.
Several transactions came out wrong — report them from Reporting a wrong transaction so we can fix the reading.
One card shouldn’t be recorded — see Ignored cards.
